*Waiting For An Earl Like You* by Alexandra Hawkins

Captivating New Release From Alexandra Hawkins

Waiting For An Earl Like You is an entertaining, well-written and captivating historical fiction novel.
Identical twin brothers, Thorn and Gideon, have known Olivia since childhood. Although the three played together as children, Olivia gravitated towards Gideon, rather than his brother. Thorn, the young Earl, was too serious and moody for Olivia. She also felt intimidated by him. Since she was only a Baron’s daughter, Olivia didn’t feel worthy of the Earl’s attention. Thorn, however, was jealous of his twin, and the affection Olivia gave him. Gideon told his brother that Olivia was only a friend. The Earl, however, wasn’t so sure about that.

Even as a young man, the Earl of Kempthorn, pushed himself to get whatever he wanted. If it wasn’t freely given, he took it. When Olivia didn’t pay attention to him, he stole kisses from her by pretending to be Gideon. However, when Olivia was kidnapped, Thorn was beside himself with worry. He realized that his obsession with the Baron’s daughter was much more than just lust. He was in love with her.

Olivia had her hands full with the Netherwood brothers, but that was the least of her worries. The man who she considered to be a good friend and suitor, betrayed her in the most despicable manner. And the man whom Olivia realized, that she was in love with, had proven beyond a doubt, that he cherished her.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It did become confusing at times, but that’s probably because it’s part of a series, and I haven’t read the first two books as of yet. Still, it was easy enough to fill in the blanks and become engrossed in the story until the very end.

Many thanks, to the publisher and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy.
