My Dearest Enemy::.jpg 850.jpgDon’t Miss Jennifer Moore’s Newest Historical Fiction Romance–My Dearest Enemy!

My Dearest Enemy is a compelling read. Once I started it this novel, I couldn’t put it down. I finished the book in one day.

The year was 1812, and the Americans were in Canada, fighting Great Britain. Abigail Tidwell was tired of living alone, freezing, and shouldering the chores by herself. She was outside gathering wood, when she noticed, the barn door ajar. Upon investigation Abigail found, an American officer, unconscious, bleeding, and suffering from an arrowhead to his side, and a knife wound to his arm.

When Captain Prescott demanded that Abigail leave her home and follow him, she felt betrayed. She had nursed the American officer back to health; and, this is how he thanks her? But when Abigail discovered, that it was her doctoring skills that were needed, Abigail left without complaint. The longer Abigail spent time with Captain Emmett Prescott, the more she enjoyed his company. She was falling for the enemy and didn’t know what to do about it.

Emmett felt like a failure when his soldiers, himself, and Abigail were captured. Abigail was a healer and a Canadian, so she didn’t think that she had anything to worry about. She was wrong. British officer, Lieutenant Fox, made it very clear that he didn’t believe her story. The Lieutenant was a cunning and cruel man. He took great pleasure, in making people, who crossed him, suffer. Unfortunately, Captain Emmett Prescott was at the top of his list.

My Dearest Enemy is well researched and written. I became engrossed in the story and cared about the characters, right from the start. The romance between Abigail and Emmitt is heartwarming, engaging and sweet. I have read several of Jennifer Moore’s books and have never been disappointed.

Thank you, Covenant Publishing and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy. I loved it.
