*Going Under*by Silas Payton*5-Stars

going under

Going Under is an exciting, well-written character-driven novel. This perfectly paced, crime thriller hijacked my attention from the very start. There wasn’t a boring page in the entire book. Going Under takes place in Toronto, Canada and has a unique plot involving two biker gangs, the Italian mob and a corrupt psychiatrist. The protagonist, Inspector, Bill Roberts is a likable, flawed character. I loved his witty banter and humorous inner dialogue. Murders without obvious motives had the Toronto’s Homicide Dept. scrambling for clues. Inspector Bill Roberts suspected the driving force behind the recent crimes was the Italian mob, but he needs a good lead to assist him in nailing them.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this cleverly written engrossing novel. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good, well-told mystery. I can’t wait to read book two in the Bill Roberts crime thriller series.
