Dancing with the sun:xx 850.jpgKay Bratt’s New Outstanding Book, About Healing, Forgiveness, & Survival–Coming 11/27/18

Dancing With The Sun is a book to savor, remember and read again.  The story is heartfelt, beautifully written, and emotionally moving.

Sadie suffered from empty nest syndrome and a failing marriage.  She also stopped truly living life the day her son Jacob died. And, although Sadie loved her adoptive daughter, Lauren, Sadie’s buried grief over her lost son, clouded that relationship. When her daughter, Lauren, traveled across the country to go to college, Sadie worked extra shifts to bury her loneliness. Tom, Sadie’s husband, spent less time at home than ever before. He worked long hours at the office, and often left for weekend trips, alone.

When many of Tom’s belongings and his favorite slippers went missing from the house, Sadie figured that her husband had found someone else. She didn’t blame him really. It was just another painful loss for her to bear. Sadie decided to visit her daughter in California. She wanted to break the news to Lauren gently so that when the changes occurred in the family, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise to Lauren.

Although Sadie wasn’t keen on hiking in Yosemite National Park, she allowed  Lauren to lead the way. It was while they were lost in the wilderness that Sadie faced her unresolved grief, failures, and regrets; and found forgiveness and healing, for her soul.

Kay Bratt brought the book alive for me with vivid wilderness scenes, rich character development, and raw emotion. I loved every page of this heartwrenching, compelling and touching novel.

Wish Me Home by Kay Bratt

Wish Me Home

I Absolutely Loved This Book!

Wish Me Home is compelling, heartfelt and superbly written.

Don’t Miss Kay Bratt’s newest novel.

Wish Me Home is a heartfelt story about a courageous woman, Cara Butter, and her extraordinary journey, pedaling to Florida with only a stray dog for company. Cara hated hiding from the authorities but felt as if she didn’t have a choice.

After being tossed from one foster family to another, Cara and her twin sister, Hana didn’t trust anyone. They had often found that people were not who they had claimed to be. But, since Cara has been on the road, homeless and penniless, she discovered that there were some very good people in the world. People who didn’t want anything in return for their kindness. Although Cara had always depended on Hana and missed her sister something fierce, she was finding her own way and her inner strength. On this journey, Cara would not only find peace and happiness, but she would also discover who she really was, as well.

I absolutely loved this superbly written book. It stole my heart. I read it in almost one sitting because I couldn’t put it down. This is the first book that I have read by this talented author, but it won’t be my last. That is for sure. Highly recommended.

Thank you, Lake Union Publishing and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy!
