Lorelei Weatherstoke has been caring for animals since she was a young girl. She started taking in the sick and injured, after a broken ankle, left her crippled. Her brother Mortimer, cruel from the day he was born, often laughed at her and called her duck. But, when Lorelei was fourteen, her world changed. She spotted a boy who was barely alive and insisted that her brother and father bring him home. And although he made a miraculous recovery, he didn’t have a clue, as to who he was. So fourteen-year-old Lorelei, gave the boy a name, Ash Weatherstoke.

Ash had every intention of removing Lorelei’s sadist brother from her life. But the day Ash planned to kill Mortimer, Ash was put in chains, and sent away. When he didn’t return home, Lorelei was devastated. Although it took Ash years to come back to Lorelei, he returned to her, as promised. The trouble was, though, Ash was no longer the boy Lorelei knew, but a ruthless, famous pirate; the Rook, aka, King of the Seas.

The Duke With The Dragon Tattoo is an unputdownable, engrossing historical fiction romance. The story comes alive with colorful characters, realistic dialogue and an intriguing well-crafted plot.  I loved it.

The Scot Beds His Wife by Kerrigan Byrne–5 Stars–Book Review

A Scot Beds his wife:850.jpg

Don’t Miss, Kerrigan Byrne’s Newest, Historical Fiction Release, A Scot Beds His Wife! This Book is a Perfect Blend of Love, Romance and Danger. I loved it!

The Scot Beds His Wife is a captivating historical fiction romance. I was enthralled with the story and the characters right from the start. This is the fifth book that I have read, in the Victorian Rebel Series, and I loved it.

Samantha Masters is leaving Wyoming for good and starting a new life in the Highlands. She didn’t really want to shoot her outlaw husband between the eyes, but Samantha just couldn’t allow him to kill, another innocent person, in cold blood. Alison Ross was the young woman whose life had been spared by Samantha’s actions. Thankful to Samantha, Alison Ross offered her sanctuary in the Highlands. She had left Erradale, years ago, when she was thirteen-years-old, and never went back. Alison didn’t think that anyone would remember her. So Samantha agreed to take on Alison Ross’s identity and begin a new life in Scotland.

Samantha was sure that her brother-in-laws wouldn’t find her in the Highlands, but she planned to stay under the radar just in case. Keeping to herself, though, was proving to be a difficult task. Her neighbor, Lord Gavin St. James, was constantly in her face. He wanted to buy Erradale, and no matter how many times Samantha told him no, he’d come back and try to convince her again and again, just the same. He was a notorious rake, charming, and sinfully handsome. He was also incorrigible and infuriating, and Samantha found herself falling for him. Then, when she least expected it, Lord Gavin St. James, offered Samantha something that she just couldn’t refuse.

Samantha felt like a monster taking advantage of the very people she had come to care for. She thought that she would be strong enough to handle any fallout from the lies that she told. But, she was wrong, and she only had herself to blame for it.

I was completely engrossed in this perfectly paced historical fiction novel. The characters, dialogue, and situations are so meticulously crafted, that I was brought deep into the hearts and minds of Samantha Masters and Gavin St. James, and that’s where I stayed, until the end of the book. This novel is a thrilling blend of love, romance, and danger. It’s very much worth the read.

*The Duke* by Kerrigan Byrne

Kerrigan Byrne’s Newest Release.

A Compelling Romance & An Intriguing Mystery!

Imogen Pritchard’s life changed drastically after her father died. He left his family desolate. Imogen, much to her dismay was forced to work at the Bare Kitten as a server to pay off her father’s debt. She also worked at St. Margaret’s Hospital as a nurse to support her younger sister and ailing mother.

Collin Talmage, the new Duke of Trewyth, entered the Bare Kitten to drown his sorrow in alcohol. He was intrigued with Imogen, aka, Ginny. He convinced, the owner, to sell her to him for the night. What happened during that night surprised both Ginny and Collin. Ginny’s memories of Collin’s tenderness comforted her during many lonely nights. And, Ginny’s loving memory gave Collin a place to retreat to while being tortured in a Turk prison.

A couple of years later, fate brought Collin and Imogen together again, only this time, they were two very different people. Collin was an angry, bitter man, and Imogen, a widowed Countess. Unfortunately for Imogen, her home was next-door to The Duke of Trewyth. She lived in fear of being recognized by him, as the Ginny; he once spent a night with. If Imogen’s carefully concealed past were to be exposed, it would ruin not only her but her family also. Although Collin thought Imogen to be a foolish and annoying neighbor, he found himself protective of her, especially when women resembling Imogen were being murdered all around her. Collin was determined to find out who exactly this beautiful neighbor of his was.

This is the fourth book in the Victorian Rebels series. Imogen is a lovable character, strong and caring. Collin was a more difficult character to like because of his cruel, angry outbursts. The Duke is a well-written and captivating romantic tale as well as an intriguing mystery.

Thank you, St. Martin’s Press, and NetGalley, for my advanced review copy.

*The Highlander*by Kerrigan Byrne*5-Stars

The highlander

The Highlander is a well crafted, compelling romance that takes place in Scotland, during the 19th century.

Lieutenant Colonel Liam Mackenzie, aka, the Demon Highlander, was famous for his violent temper and fierce fighting skills. He was feared by his enemies, his soldiers, and even his own clan.

Lady Philomela had never been the recipient of violence until she married the despicable, Lord Gordon St.Vincent. And, although, Lady Philomela knew that her sadistic husband had no qualms about hurting her, she never thought that he would lock her away in an insane asylum.

Lady Philomela suffered horrific atrocities while in the hospital and was tearfully relieved when she was rescued. Once out of the insane asylum, Philomela needed a new identity. It was decided that she would pose as a governess and be sent to the one place where no one would even dare to look for her, in the castle of the Demon Highlander. Lady Philomela was petrified. What would happen if the most feared warrior in all of Scotland were to find out that the person teaching his children was not a governess at all, but a woman living a lie?

The Highlander is a highly entertaining historical fiction romance. I finished the book in one day. The characters are unique, fully developed and likable, and their dialogue, realistic and witty. If you enjoy reading historical fiction romance, you’ll love The Highlander.
