*Morbus Dei: The Arrival* by Zach Bastian & Matthias Bauer

Morbus Dei

Morbus Dei: The Arrival is a unique and compelling historical fiction thriller. The story takes place in Europe during the 18th century. The author does a wonderful job accurately depicting the harsh ways of life during that time period.

Johann was almost dead when he fell unconscious at an old man’s doorstep. He had been robbed and stabbed by a farmer with a pitchfork. Johann was left in the wilderness to die, but he survived. He wandered around in the snow and was near death before he was able to reach and knock on a village door. Johann was nursed back to health by a woman who he would later fall in love with.

There was something dark living in that village. People were hiding from the mysterious “Them”. Dark Shapes lurked in the woods. Secrets and suspicions surrounding “Them” had people living in fear. Johann would play a major role in discovering who or what this darkness was.

If you enjoy reading compelling historical fiction, then Morbus Dei: The Arrival, is the book for you.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
